The CFNC excursion on Saturday 11th March 2017 will follow up on the talk by David Cheal at the General Meeting in February on the impact of fire on Box-Ironbark forests. We will inspect adjacent areas of woodland near the intersection of Youngmans and McManus Tracks, where the effects of controlled burns in recent years can be compared with an unburnt area.
Meet at the Octopus (opposite Castle Motel on Duke St) to leave at 1.30 pm. Bring water and afternoon tea, and clothing suitable for the day’s weather.
And don’t forget to come along to Damian Kelly’s talk the night before (click here for details).
