9 April 2016 – CFNC Geology Excursion

Following on from Julian Hollis’s talk at the February 2016 meeting about Permain Glacial Features, the there is to be a field excursion to the Upper Coliban Reservior near Malmsbury.  Julian will show us many of the unusual and interesting rocks to be found at this location that arrived as a result of this glacial activity.

Date: Saturday 9 April
Starting Location:  The Octopus U3A building car park on Duke St, Castlemaine (opposite the Castle Motel).
Starting Time:  Excursion to head off from the Octopus building at 1.30pm – so arrive a little bit earlier
To bring: It is suggested that you bring plastic bags or small other containers (with labels) for collected specimens.  Afternoon tea is also an important component of any CFNC excursion!
Transport: Car-pooling
