A request for memories…

In the March 2014 Castlemaine Naturalist newsletter, the Geraldine Harris’s front page article (‘Losing Touch with Nature’) lamented the declining interest and engagement in the natural world – particularly amongst children.  At the end of the article, she requested that CFNC members contribute an article or two to a future club newsletter which describe a memorable experience(s) they had interacting with nature as a child or youth.  (She also interested in hearing any suggestions that people have for re-engaging modern kids with nature.)

Delve back into the memory bank.  Put something down on paper or in an email.  Long or short.  Local or international.  All contributions welcomed.

Send your reminiscences to our newsletter editor Noel Young (noel.young@optusnet.net.au) – by the 31 March if possible to meet the deadline for the April edition of the Castlemaine Naturalist.  If you miss this deadline, its still fine to send it in for May or later.  Thanks!
