The first general meeting for the Castlemaine Field Naturalists Club in 2014 is to be held on Friday 14th February. The Annual General Meeting is also to be held on this evening (usually a short portion of the evening). As always, the meeting commence from 7.30pm at the Uniting Church Hall (on Lyttleton St).
At the AGM, there will be an opportunity to nominate yourself or others to the committee. The club is keen to see some new faces on the committee. Nomination forms will be sent out with the newsletters prior to the meeting, and nominations from the floor will be accepted on the evening. Other standard AGM activities will also occur. Please feel free to speak to one of the existing committee members if you’d like to know more about what’s involved (see back of a recent newsletter for contact details).
Our guest speakers for the evening will be club members George Broadway and Noel Young. At the general meeting in December 2013, we ran out of time for everyone to make a short presentation on a topic of interest. George and Noel have agreed to give their presentations at this February meeting instead. Other club members who wish to give a short presentation on the evening are also welcome to do so.
Both members and non-members are welcome and encouraged to attend this evening, although only members are able to vote at the AGM. Look forward to seeing you there.
The excursion on Sat 15 Feb 2014 is to the Cairn Curran Reservoir. More details to follow within the newsletter.
