As per club tradition, the December general meeting of the Castlemaine Field Naturalists Club is an opportunity for club members and visitors to make a short presentation on their area of natural history interest. Everyone encouraged to bring along photos, a slideshow, or some bits and pieces they’ve found out in the bush (e.g. abandoned nest, a plant specimen, a bug, etc) to share with others. Or anything else relating to Natural History that they’d like to talk about. About 5 to 10 minutes per person is typical.
If you don’t have anything to show, or you’re not comfortable with public speaking, we still hope that you can make it along to see what others have an interest in. There’ll be a supper afterwards, so bring along a plate of snacks or a drink to share. And celebrate another great year for the club.
The meeting commences at 7.30pm in the hall behind the Uniting Church on Lyttleton St (Fri 13 Dec 2013).
The excursion on the next day will be to Bell’s Swamp. It has dried out considerably from its peak of a year or so ago, but still has some water and a fascinating range of flora and waterbirds to view.
Both members and visitors are welcome to both events.
